“Once upon a time….” my friend’s daughter turned five. I wanted to do something special because of all the help my friend had provided, all the encouragement she showed, and all the excitement she shared. Given the limited situation I was in, I felt that I had only one gift I could give… to write a story. This is how ShortBooks were born. Through the inspiration of the love between a mother and child… shared with a friend.
Unlike other companies that have a story that they plug a name into, you can license a fresh story! Have a story with all of your loved one’s favorite elements. Have it themed for a birthday, anniversary, baby shower, graduation, etc. The ideas are limited only by the imagination. The story, cover art, and interior of the ShortBooks are original works, created at the time of ordering.
Kids love having a story written to fit them, but kids aren’t the only ones! Let us create a book that comes from the heart. Not just a short story, but an entire book.

Originally from Vermont, Ann now lives in Virginia with her husband. Ann spent much of her childhood moving from place to place. Now settled, she enjoys exploring nature and the freedom to pursue the dreams of her imagination through writing.

I won a competition to have my name used in a short story. The author kindly sent me a copy of the book to read. I loved it!
Lynnton Wor is a wonderful character. She is a strong warrior type, who battles with her own demons, never mind the ones running around the world! She meets Lazaro, a demon prince, and her world gets turned upside down when he requests her help.
This is a fantastic short story. However, I found it too short! It was just getting interesting and it finished! There is so much I would like to find out about the Hadesian's and their planet. Lazaro is also an intriguing character, and I would be interested to finding out more about why he and his brethren were exiled on Earth. There was also the chemistry between Lynnton and Lazaro; it promised to get hot!
Ann Snizek has written a short story that I really enjoyed, even though it left me wanting more! I am looking forward to reading more books from this author, especially her full novels.
I recommend this book if you love paranormal or science fiction genres. - Lynn Worton

How I became involved:
I first heard about ShortBook
by Snow Flower which deals with short stories, when I won a competition on
Facebook to have my name used in a short story to be written by one of their
authors, Ann Snizek. I supplied my name through the website contact form and it
was a short period of time (I think it was roughly two weeks) when I was
informed that the story had been completed. Once the story had been written, I
was sent a print copy of the book through the post as a keepsake. It was
wonderfully presented and formatted and the font was easy to read. The story
that was written for me was excellent and suited my reading preference of
paranormal/ fantasy romance. However, I found the story too short! It was just getting
interesting and it finished. I would have loved for the story to be just that
little bit longer. Nevertheless, having said that, I would recommend ShortBook
by Snow Flower and their authors if you are looking for a company that offers
personalized short stories which make the perfect gift for people of all ages
and occasions.
