Today, I have pleasure in hosting AmBear Shellea and her new book, Heavy Metal Heartbeat, which is Book 2 in the series. Please make her feel welcome by commenting and/or entering the giveaway at the end of this post.
Heavy Metal Heartbeat Synopsis:
Heavy Metal Heartbeat is one wild ride. Its
twists, turns and mind games will leave you breathless and borderline crazy.
This rockin' adventure begins with Ozzie, who has awakened from a harsh brush with death. Just as he thought he overcame all the dangers of his supernatural survival, danger strikes with a vengeance. The news of the kidnapping of a loved one ignites his rage, unlocking a family secret and changing who he is forever.
Now he's in a rush to play hero and savior. There's only problem; What happens if the savior becomes a villain?
Ozzie's friends, with the help of his father, put him to the test to see if he can indeed be the hero that saves the day or the hindrance that gets them all killed. While visiting the in-between he is given the knowledge to overcome his situation. All he must do is embrace who he is. Who is that, exactly?
Turns out when you take a human man with an ancient bloodline, add in slash marks from a Wolf, a bite from a Vampire, the pure love from the woman he loves and piss him off, you get a man no one expected!
Bad Ass Hunter or Uncontrollable Vigilante?

Author Interview:
1. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
In the sixth grade, we just
finished reading A Midsummer Night's
Dream.
2. How long does it take you to write a book?
It really depends on the story. My fantasy series
books took me over a year, but my paranormal series books took me less than
twelve months.
3. What do you think makes a great story?
Adventure and the unknown. I love to be blown
away by a story, blind-sided with surprises I never seen coming.
4. What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
4. What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
Hectic with a large helping of insomnia! I don't
have certain time frame when I write like you would with a regular work
schedule. The reason being, inspiration doesn't arrive at a certain time.. It
usually just shows up and says 'hey I'm here and boy do I have an idea for
you!' and you just have to go with it or you will lose it. I have lost some
ideas simply because I wasn't at a place where I could jot it down.
5. How do you balance family and writing?
5. How do you balance family and writing?
Its a juggling act like any other. Someday's I am
Superwoman and others...not so much.
6. Where do you get your information or
ideas for your books?
Dreams, music, pictures etc. I don't have one
certain thing...That would be too easy. :)
7. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book/s?
7. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book/s?
That other authors are some of the most helpful people in this
industry and can and will give you a straight answer. In the author community
it is common knowledge that if we all help each other then we will all succeed.
8. How many books have you written? Which is your favourite?
I have written four books and a short story for
an anthology. I have to say, so far, Revelation is my Favorite.
9. Are your characters based on anyone you know?
No. I didn't want anyone with hurt or angry
feelings so I made sure not to base any character on nay one person.
10. Do you have a favourite place you love to
write?
Where, is not so much, but by myself with Rock music blaring is my preference.
11. How hard is it to get published?
11. How hard is it to get published?
Depends. For some it is harder than others. It
really depends on what you want and what you're willing to do to make it
happen. For me, it took a couple of years before I got my first contract and
that was with Devine Destinies for my Fantasy Series. My Paranormal series, I
pubbed myself. I am balancing out Traditional vs. Self. There is good and bad
with both :)
12. What do your family and friends think about your books?
12. What do your family and friends think about your books?
They are supportive. My best friend went and
cleaned off her bookshelf just for my books :)
13. What do you like to do when you are not writing?
13. What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Well, many things. I have one daughter planning a wedding and
the other is a Junior in high school not to mention the everyday, BUT if I have
my choice I tan, get my hair done and hangout with my Besties or my Hubby.
14. Do you have any suggestions to help
aspiring writers better themselves and their craft? If so, what are they?
Never give up no matter what! Always always
really listen when someone is offering you ideas or advice. Remember the people around you are readers
too.
15. As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
15. As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
Well. Aside from a writer, I just knew I wanted
to be famous, ya know, like Madonna or maybe a veterinarian.
16. What are your favourite books and which
authors inspire you?
Terry Goodkind~ The Sword of Truth Series my fav
books and William Shakespeare always inspires.
17. For an aspiring writer what do you feel are certain do's and don’ts for getting their material published?
DO edit edit edit for errors!
DO keep sending it to publishing houses if that's
the way you want to go
DO ask a lot of questions of anyone in the
industry.
DONT give up!
DONT send out shotty work, no one will take your
work serious if you don't.
DONT take the easy road!
18. What are you working on now?

About The Author:
Bio:
Although I have always
enjoyed writing, the dream to become a writer came when I read A Midsummer
Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare, in the sixth grade. My early works, not
published, were in the form of children’s stories I would read to my two
daughters. I divide my days between the real world and the ones I've created.
My life and my characters keep me very busy in my Mid-Western scene, where I
live with my husband, and my children (both human and furry).
